Hello Paleo Pioneers,
With the new year upon us, the influx of newly ordained fitness monks pour into gyms all across the country. Remember, my fellow CrossFit Cult-mates, that some of these newbies are actually serious about getting in shape and becoming real athletes!....we were all once "that new guy". So be patient, encouraging and let them know that there is no substitute for good old hard work.
That being said...some of you fitness veterans may be looking for that next level in performance, physique and handsomeness. The answer always lies in the fuel source...the FOOD!!! If you are looking for that change, have you considered going Paleo? The Paleo program offers a great alternative to traditional "dieting". Based on caveman nutrition, consuming foods closest to there most natural state free from pesticides, preservatives and refined sugar are the tennants to this program. I have found that the site www.whole9life.com offers great guidelines and resources.
Do you consume enough fish oil to fight the inflammatory process of poor eating and hard training? Probably not. Whole9life.com also offfers a great fish oil calculator hosted by the paleo guru Robb Wolf. Check it out...you may be surprised how much you need.
